Meet Lucien

Same name. New number every week.

British junior karting, six years in

On track

Lucien started racing at Kimbolton and hasn't really stopped. 2026 is his first year in Juniors, and he didn't pick one class. He has raced Rotax Junior, OK-N Junior, Junior X30 and OK Junior, across 16 circuits in 6 countries.

How he races

His speciality is going forwards. If a qualifying goes wrong, the data comes out, the plan changes and the next few races are spent coming back through. The headline is P30 to P3 at Wackersdorf, but it happens most weekends.

Where it's going

This week is the FIA World Championship in Italy. He has also spent time in a car racing awning, working out what the step up from karts really takes. For now the focus stays on the kart.

It takes a team. A season like this runs on teams, mechanics, coaches and family, and on the people who back them. Talk to us

Never give up

What the timing screens keep saying.

Results in karting can turn on one touch at turn one. So look at what stays the same weekend after weekend, whichever kart he is in.

01

Goes forwards

34 overtakes in one weekend at Wackersdorf. 21 places in one Final at Silverstone after a lap one spin.

02

One lap speed

Pole at Whilton Mill with a 45.733. Pole at Larkhall. P2 at Sarno, 0.087 seconds off pole in only his second Champions of the Future race.

03

Purple sectors

8 fastest laps at major events in 2025, plus a new Mini lap record at PFI that October.

04

Learns the kart fast

Four classes in his first Junior season, each with a different tyre, engine and way of racing.

05

Does the homework

Data analysis before the race, and visualisation to get his head right for the start.

06

Comes back

Bent chassis, broken track rods, spun out on lap one. The next post is usually about what he learned and where he goes next.
